How to send an SMS campaign


Please follow these steps in order to send an SMS campaign

Guide : REALISATION D'UNE CAMPAGNE SMS

Log in to your Octopush account or create a new account.

Next, click New Campaign and choose the type of campaign you want to send:

  • SMS
  • Rich SMS (enriched SMS with a short link)
  • Voice SMS

Type your message (you can copy and paste it), choose the recipients (you can type them one by one, choose an already imported contact list or a rented database).

Now for the sender: If you decide not to personalize the transmitter, the SMS will be sent with a 5-digit number (36204). Recipients in mainland France will then be able to respond to your SMS.

NB: If you personalize the sender, recipients will not be able to respond. (max 11 alphanumeric characters)

Select the sending method: Instant or programmed

What is the goal of your campaign: Marketing or Transactional?

If the aim of your campaign is marketing, the STOP mention at 30101 is compulsory in France.

If you wish to use transactional SMS/alert/notification, be sure to select it carefully; otherwise, the operator will consider your campaign as marketing and will block sending until 8 a.m. the next day.


NB: Commercial campaigns are allowed between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. On Saturday, sending is allowed between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Prohibited on public holidays and Sundays.

Finally :

  • Send a test SMS before validating your campaign.
  • Validate your campaign and verify that all settings are correct. Then, click “Send”.
  • After sending your campaign, you will receive a Ticket SMS ID which is confirmation that your campaign has been sent.

You can go to "Analytics", "Campaign History" if you want to see information relating to receipts of your sent campaigns.

FAQ

Why didn't my campaign arrive? 

This may be due to the fact that your campaign required manual validation, that it was sent outside the authorized hours for SMS marketing (France only) or that your SMS campaign was blocked by the operators (this is why it is always useful to send a test SMS).

It tells me I don't have enough credit, why?

It is most likely because your message requires more SMS per contact. If you are sure that the number of contacts and SMS per contact is correct. It is probably due to an international number on your list that does not have the same unit price.
