Acknowledgement of Receipt (AR) Status

What it is, how to check my the AR status of my campaigns & what do they mean.

The status of Acknowledgement of Receipt (AR) is the final information network operators give us after they have processed the request. In simple words, they let us know whether the SMS was delivered or not.

After your campaign is successfully sent, you can check the analytics and verify all the AR statuses.

Analytics

It's where all your reporting is saved. From your general view to your HLR queries. This tab is on your left-hand menu.

Check SMS Campaigns

After opening the analytics tab, select 'SMS Campaign' and you will find all the campaigns/SMS you've sent. They can be filtered by:

  • Status : processed, scheduled or waiting
  • Year & Month
  • Period Range

Once the filtering is done, we have 2 types of reporting in the action buttons (on the far right of the line)

  • Statistics
  • Details

Statistics

Here we show you a pizza chart with the status of your campaign.

Please allow a maximum of 48 hours to have a complete report of the campaign. Waiting means that we have not yet received a final AR status.

Details

In this view, we show the actual AR Status

AR status can be divided into :

  • Delivery Timeout or Expired = It is no longer possible for the operator to submit the SMS status because the response time has been exceeded. In 90% of the cases, the SMS in this status are well delivered.
  • Delivered= The SMS was delivered correctly to the recipient's phone.
  • Not delivered = The SMS was not delivered. In 90% of the cases, this is due to an invalid or not active number. Other reasons can be: no memory, no battery, off network, on operator blacklist, country regulations, etc.
  • Transmitted = The SMS was sent to the operator, but we have not a final status. Obtaining a final AR Status can take up to 48 hours.
  • Refused = The SMS was refused as the number was blacklisted
  • Anti-flooding = Anti-spam filter triggered. If the message was sent more than 2 times in the last 15 minutes.
  • Blacklisted = The final user has blacklisted the sender (opted out)
